IM ROOTING FOR NUDE!

(above: i will definitely be on the hunt for this outfit. i made it on polyvore.com it's such a fun site!! )

ever since spring dropped, i have been obsessed with 'nude'. well, not literally, but the color 'nude'.

i looked in my closet today and the colour is on top of my pile. it's everywhere!

finding the best nude colour for your skin tone is a little tricky. my friend Victoria who is faired skin often find it hard to like nude colours. she feels the colour washes her out.
but when we went to ZARA the other day, which by the way is my new favorite place to get 'nude tones' she found the perfect nude colour for her. it's probably 3-4 shades darker than her skin tone and the was glowing!
it made her skin look so good. you see, the idea is to never exactly match the tone of the nude with your skin. first of all, you're gonna look naked, second, it will wash you out, making you look pale and ill (not the good 'ill' =) ) .
like i said, 2-4 shades away from your skin colour is the magic number. either 2-4 shades lighter or darker, will contrast your skin making it pop and look healthier. sticking to nude with gold undertones usually makes you look tanner soo heads up with those colour combos.

i like to use nude as a base colour too. i mean, it's like painting, you can use it as a canvas to create a look. when the weather's warm, i have the urge to dress safari-like. (dont ask.)

i definitely love the first outfit, because some people wouldnt think of pairing the top with a bold jean, but it definitely works. i would wear this out to lunch with my friends, a walk around downtown (maybe with nude flats rather than the pumps. =) ) the second outfit, i'd wear for a night out at a not-so-fancy bar. chill at the lounge and have a couple of margartitas. i could honestly see myself wear this effortless outfit.

So, what do you guys think? Are you up for nude?

lovelovelove,
Me!
